Best editor for 2d tile map creation?

What do you guys use to create your 2d worlds, the tile map. I tried mapeditor.org but I couldn't get it to save out in the same data array format used in the examples, eg:

Tiled works fine out of the box, you need to load the data using the IgeTiledComponent also see example 13.6 which loads a tiled level.

That's up to you as its just the way the map is stored. I use CSV because I do other stuff to the map. When you export 'Export As' select the json format you can give it a js extension from tiled or rename it after.

When you have your map data load it into you editor and add var tiled = to the start of the file and a semi colon to the end.

I use Tiled it's brilliant.
I also use TexturePacker with the awesome component made by Stuart.

With Tiled even non technical colleagues can build maps with little direction from me.
I setup the tilesets and they paint away.

I export the Tiled maps as JSON and have a small watcher that watches the json files for changes and prepends

I would strongly encourage anyone building production projects with Isogenic to buy a premium licence, it costs very little and will help towards continued development of the engine. Irrelon have spent thousands of hours developing this wonderful platform with many features found in AAA game engine.

I found a YouTube video by you of an fantastic preview of an editor "HTML5 - New Browser-Based Editor Preview Isogenic Engine 1.1.0".

Does this exist and if so, how do I start it please?

Ahh yes. That's not me. The lead dev at irrelon is also called Rob. :)

However yes, the engine comes complete with an in browser editor. I can't tell you much about it or how complete it is I'm afraid because like I said I use Tiled.

You can test drive it for your self my including the IgeEditorComponent into your engine.
