Is development still on track for an April 2012 2.0 release?

      Hi Leland,

The current version is labelled 0.2.5a but we started counting from 0.0.1 instead of 1.0.1 so technically, version 1.2.5a is actually labelled 0.2.5a at the moment. From the next release coming shortly, we are going to re-label it as version 1.0.0 even though technically you could call it 2.0.0 since it is the second major release.

      So for clarity:

0.2.5a should have been called 1.2.5a but will remain as it is
0.2.6b should have been called 2.0.0 but will be released as 1.0.0

This is because all of the documentation to date would need to be updated to change the numbering system whereas changing the numbering system for a new release (plus the number on this page) is easy and much less time consuming and also not as confusing for current users… re-labelling an existing release would be a mistake in my opinion.

Makes sense. Much better spending time on more important things then renaming versions.
