The engine has two different versions, and two different licenses.
The Offline Version
This is our core offering, allowing you to develop games that do not have multiplayer or persistent world support out of the box. This is the easiest way to use the Isogenic Game Engine as it doesn’t require you to setup Node.js or any other server-side stuff. You can jump straight into developing your game and even run them right off your hard-drive without a server!
The Online Version
This is our most advanced engine version and includes multiplayer and persistent world support. This version requires you to have an understanding of Node.js, server-side JavaScript and related technologies. If you are not familiar with Linux, Node.js, MongoDB etc then you would be better off with the Offline Version of the engine. If you are comfortable with installing and using Node.js & MongoDB and want to try your hand at developing multiplayer / persistent world games, this is the version for you!
The Premium License
The Premium license comes with the full engine source code including in-line comments and an array of other benefits. You can find out more about the benefits of the premium license on the Price Sheet page.
The Prototype License
The Prototype license is for evaluation and testing only and does not include the full source code. Prototype source is obfuscated and in-line comments are removed. You are also not allowed to use the prototype license for any commercial use. See the Price Sheet for more details.
